Overview

Any workplace can choose install on – site AED units.  AED access and use vastly increases the survival rate of a cardiac arrest victim.  This four hour programme is for those who wish to gain knowledge of emergency first aid procedures and the ability to use an AED.

• Breathing and Circulation
• Principles of Resuscitation
• Use of an AED
• Recovery Position

Qualification information 

Designed for: staff where a workplace AED is in place, the training will give staff the knowledge and confidence to use the device effectively in an emergency.

Course duration: Half day programme

Assessment method: Ongoing assessment is carried out by the trainer throughout the course.

Prerequisite: A suitable aptitude for acting calmly, promptly and effectively under diverse conditions.
