Throughout the 2009/10 school year, New Directions will be hosting a series of seminars facilitated by David Egan.  Challenges for Schools and Education in Wales is the fourth seminar of the series.   Â
Overview
The objectives of the day are:
- What will be the main challenges that schools and the education system in Wales will face over the next ten years?Â
- How can schools best respond to and overcome these challenges
Course led by – Professor David Egan
David Egan is Professor of Education at UWIC, where he is Director of the Centre for Applied Education Research. He has been involved in education in Wales for over 30 years, including thirteen years spent as a classroom teacher. From 2005 until 2007 he was Special Adviser for Education to the Welsh Assembly Government, where he served the First Minister, the Education Minister and the Cabinet.  He has been one of the main thinkers behind the School Effectiveness Framework in Wales and works regularly with schools, Local Authorities and policymakers in developing and evaluating education policy
