- Values and Rights: Individuality, Identity, Choice, Respect, Privacy, Dignity and Independence
- Confidentiality – What is confidentiality? Why is it important?
- Relationships – Understand how a relationship with a service user is different from other relationships and understand the responsibilities and limits of relationships with service users
- Role of the worker – Understand the workers role in relation to the aims and values of the company
- Communication – Understand the various ways people communicate
- Personal Care – The importance of personal care
- The effect of receiving a service on the service user – self esteem, confidence, self worth and institutionalisation
- The effect of the service setting on the worker – institutionalisation
